Bob’s Red Mill Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix
I’ve had a bread maker for a few weeks now, but had been having a hard time finding some gluten free bread mix so I could actually start to use it. After visiting quite a few different grocery stores here in CA (surprisingly CA does not have alot of gluten free products…maybe it’s the area?) I came upon “Bob’s Red Mill, Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix” at Ralph’s. I was looking for just regular bread mix since I had previously tried it a few years back and liked it. However even though they did have alot of different gluten free mixes to choose from, no regular bread mix so I opted for trying the cinnamon raisin since it sounded pretty good.
I will admit it was somewhat of a challenge to understand the baking directions since the bread maker says one thing but since the mix I bought has different ingredients I had to go back and forth to make sure everything would come out right (since apparently the key to baking bread is exact ingredients along with all being room temperature).
Needed Ingredients for Cinnamon Raisin Bread:
- 1 and 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup oil (I used vegetable oil)
- 2 eggs
First you mix all of the wet ingredients together then pour into the bread maker. Second pour the entire package of Bob’s Red Mill Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix into the bread maker as well. Lastly don’t forget to take out the tiny package of yeast that comes in the bread mix, pour on top on the bread mix. Snap the tin of ingredients into bread maker close lid and follow specific bread maker directions. My bread maker is made by Sunbeam model 5891 Sunbeam Programmable Bread Maker. You can select either 1.5 pound or 2 pound when baking and the directions are pretty simple if you read the “getting started” part when programming. The mix I used was for a 1.5 lb loaf of bread.
*Note: In the picture below of the finished bread the top part had some mix that didn’t get mixed hence some white you see at the top.
