This means avoiding any food with Wheat, Rye, Oats, and Barley, as these are the proteins known to make one with Celiac Disease extremely sick. Also it is important to know other ingredients that contain gluten such as modified food starch (unless specified with “modified corn starch). It is important to become educated with all the different gluten containing foods.
There are no “magic pills” to cure Celiac Disease, it can only be controlled by a strict gluten free diet. Celiac Disease also does not just “go away” or can someone just “grow out of it”, it is a permanent hereditary disease.

Companies constantly change their ingredients and if your used to something known as “safe” it may turn out they have added some component with gluten!
